This paper analyses the interpretation process in a guided tour of American guests to the Kaifeng Developing District Exhibition Hall in August in 2015. The reason why this script was chosen for this paper is that the type of source language possesses Chinese culture features and its interpreted script will easily demonstrate the logical differences between the two languages of which the translator must take cognizance when translating.The interpreter, adopting the Interpretive Theory of Interpretive School, in the interpreting process tried to translate in a manner that the target language sounds natural. But the interpreter, due to lack of interpreting experience, failed to do this, resulting in an interpretation not reflecting good English sentence structure and semantics. In this paper, the translator, in the light of the actual cold face experience in the translation process, has analyzed problems in the interpreted script and offered ideal interpretation with help of a foreign English teacher. This paper also includes common interpretation skills used in this interpretation experience, such as Addition translation, Omission translation, and Back translation and so on.After analyzing this interpretation process and parallel translation from the foreign English teacher, I have come to the following conclusions:1. Interpreters must adopt the whole text meaning rather than a word or a sentence as a translating unit when interpreting, which will allow interpreters to translate in a manner that sounds natural.2. Interpreters should be aware of logical differences of source language and interpreted language when interpreting and observe the proper linking words in English and westerners' logical thinking ways. This will ensure the translated text will sound natural and the target audience will easily comprehend what is being translated.3. Prior reading of available parallel texts to understand the manner in which a native language speaker would express ideas is an essential step to become an accomplished interpreter.4. Interpreters must accumulate knowledge on a wide range of subjects to enrich their “cognitive ability”, because they could utilize cognitive complements to help understand source language better for interpreting naturally and easily.
