Zhou Ji, a well-known Ci expert in Qing Dynasty, made great contributions to the theories of Ci, mainly in the following three aspects—the history of Ci poetry, its attachment to other subjects, and the ideas of regular and irregular on Ci. From the development of Ci poetry in the Qing Dynasty, the studies on the history of Ci poetry promote their status, equaling to that of poems. Its attachment to other subjects broadens the scope, diversifying the illustrations of Ci poems.Furthermore, the ideas of regular and irregular create the criticism standard of Ci poems.Zhou Ji's theory on Ci poetry is not only a part of Changzhou School, but also an organism of Ci studies in the Qing Dynasty. With far-reaching influence, his theory affects other Ci experts and their works, directly or indirectly, being appreciated or criticized.Among them are “Ci Poems from Fentuoli Studio” of Jiang Dunfu, “Ci Poems from Duqi Hills” of Xie Zhangting, “Ci Poems from Baiyu Studio” of Chen Tingzhuo, “Ci Poems from Futang Studio” of Tan Xian, and “Gentle and Elegant Ci Poems” of Kuang Zhouyi. An indivisible branch of Changzhou School, Zhou's theory is also a brick in building theories for Ci poetry.
