In the philosophical thoughts of Han Yu,"the Confucian Orthodoxy" and "the Confucian Humanity" are two important parts. The two parts blend with each other on the basis of relative independence, and the combination and unification of the two parts constitute the Confucian theoretical system with Han Yu’s characteristics of Mid-Tang dynasty.Reviving Confucianism and reconstructing political authority are the starting point and destination of Han Yu’s philosophy.Although Taoism and human nature have different emphatic points, they are integrated organically in politics and thought,so as to achieve the unity of Confucian ideal and political ambition.Han Yu’s "theory of Tao"was the beginning of the Confucianism about system sequence. In the social environment where Confucianism,Buddhism,Taoism and Taoism stand side by side,Han Yu established a systematic theory, and integrated political practice with moral practice, which reflected in his political ethics.Different from the way of Buddhism and,Confucianism can be revived and its orthodoxy can be rebuilt through "ruling the way","the right way" and "preaching".Before Han Yu,the Confucian theory of human nature broke down in the Five-Dynasty of the southern and northern dynasties.Han Yu’s"human nature" thought was a turning point in the transition from the traditional Confucian theory of human nature to Noe-Confucian’s theory of mind and nature.Referring to Dong Zhongshu’s theory of "three qualities of human nature",Han Yu put forward the viewpoint of "three qualities of human nature" to discuss human’s "nature"and "emotion",and bring "benevolence","righteousness" and other moral categories into "human nature" and endow them with moral implications.Han Yu’s philosophical thoughts are integrated and unified in the "Taoist system" and "human nature" around the cultivation of the mind.In this case, the impact of Buddhist theory of mind was weakened,so as to restore a little vitality in the ideological theory of Confucianism.Han Yu embodied the value orientation of Confucian ethical standard in maintaining the orthodox cultural consciousness of Confucianism and rejecting the cultural orientation of foreigners. But from the perspective of Neo-Confucian in the Song dynasty,Han Yu’s philosophy was widely criticized. And Neo-Confucian critically inherited and developed Han Yu’s philosophical thoughts and "the Confucian Orthodoxy" to be perfected, until Neo-Confucianism formed the Confucian "Tao" ontology and"mind-nature" ontology.
