In recent years, character feature film finds favor in m ore and more people's eyes wit h its characteristics such as vivid topic, flexible narrative structure, abundant presentation technique and authentic record, etc. With the escalation of the aging process in China, an increasing number of elderly people are not just satisfied with the basic material guarantee but more spiritual demands. Television, Internet and Mass media enjoy the exceptional advantages of leading people' wholesome lifestyle, spreading correct values, enriching people's cultural life. In general, compared with TV entertainment programs, the form of feature film is in line with the elders' viewing habits and appreciating perspectives. In addition, they can enjoy much more viewing time than young people and are more willing to receive the information and ideas Currently, the research of character feature film is not rare. However, it is not common for a specilized systematic research which is focus on aging population elderly feature film.Based on the above background, it is the elderly feature film studies that have a more profound significance. This thesis is centered on elderly feature film. combing some narrative contends and expressive forms that can be seen in a few elderly films,analyzing its types, features,creative requirements and methods, classifing its whole creative ideas and design processes.To begin with, this thesis analyzes the basic features of elderly feature film, stressing its authenticity, typicality, artistry. Besides, this thesis has a profound research on elderly feature film, analyzing different narrative features and roles with concrete film examples.Furthermore, this thesis gives some suggesstions about expressing character images in three aspects: living environment, speech act and conflict. Also, based on the principles of audio-visual language, it shows creative techniques from four aspects :lens language, color appearance, illumination model, sound reprentation, summarizing scene lens, angle, movement, color, light, tone, commentary, music and actual sound,which can be used in our routine method and emotional expression.In the end, take my graduation project "dreamer-Lixiangceng as an example,it introduces the hero's typical worthiness stories. As a president in Nanyang community Volunteer Association,Lixiangceng is praides for obliging and dedication. In order to make a better argument, this paper gives a detailed analysis from narration, filming equipment,typical lens, scene selection,putting much phasis on preliminary planning, mid shooting, post production cannot be seperated from each other during the creation process.More impotantly, key plots and shots should be digged deeply and designed elaborately. audio-visual language will be applied prpperly. Only in these ways can the double traits of cultural value and social value be reflected. The Mass media plays an crucial role in helping the aged contact the outside world, acquire information, which is also a powerful way to enrich the senior citizens' spiritual and cultural life, convey positive wholesome lifetyle, shouder the historical mission that provides and creates a better cultural environment for senior citizens.By researching the elderly feature films, I ho pe that more senior citizens can be cared and more positive elderly works can be created. Let's comfort the elderly by practical actions, lead them in a positive attitude toward life, create a decent public opinion environment for their later lives.
