As a literature selected as The World Heritage List by United Nations, Nagarakertagama is kind of literature named Kekawin which is created in the ancient Indonesian- Malay world in the fourteenth century. The work shows the situation of Javanese political structure, social life, religious practices, cultural phenomenon under the rule of emperor Majapahit, Hayam Wuruk. It also tells the story of emperor and historical events of three ancient Indonesian – Malay dynasties: Srivijaya, Singosari and Majapahit. As a product of ancient Indonesian – Malay world, the work has a close relation with the ancient Indonesian – Malay society. This paper intends to discusses the literary and social integration features from angle of time background and academic background it generated, the relationship between its topic and social situation, the relationship between narrative perspective and social trend, construction of the characters and the relationship between social stratification, the diversity lyrical methods and social evolution, language Features, significant of this work. By studying this work, the situation of ancient Indonesian – Malay society can be recovered. As a historical theme of literary works, Nagarakertagama also has a unique literary and sociological value, it deserves a further study.
