Chinese culture is extensive and profound, with a long history. Five thousand years of history has accumulated the world-famous Chinese civilization. As bearer of the traditional culture, the “four treasures of the study” wrote an indelible mark in Chinese history. The inkstone is in the end of “the four treasures of the study”, even though its history is not long, it stands in the forest of the Chinese literati with its rich and unique cultural connotation of erect from the date of the initiation. The inkstone is essential for Chinese ancient calligraphy writing, and it is also popular with scholar's desk. Its solid, moist material characteristics, after hundreds years and still keep immortal, which carries the centuries-old Chinese civilization.Tao inkstone, as one of the "four famous inkstone" in China, its stone is from Taohe's deep water within the territory of Zhuoni county, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province. It won the admiration of literati with its solid and smooth fine stone, elegant color and magnificent glistening marble. As early as the Tang Dynasty, it was used for making inkstone, grown up in the Song Dynasty, and developed in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and then inherited and innovated in contemporary. Through test and baptism of a thousand years of history, as a state-level intangible cultural heritage, Tao inkstone not only witnessed the development of ancient Chinese civilization and culture, but brought us to the extraordinary artistic enjoyment, and its implicated art aesthetic value and historical culture value will be more and more obvious.On the basis of on-the-spot investigation and analysis of Zhuoni Tao inkstone, this paper expounded the emergence and development situation of Zhuoni Tao inkstone, and combed its stone features and production process and so on. Through the illustration of the above and comb, this paper is to explore implicated aesthetic value, historical and cultural value of Zhuoni Tao inkstone. In the end, it makes research and thinking of the development status and heritage protection of Zhuoni Tao inkstone.
