As one of the most famous contemporary writers in China in recent years, Yan Lianke's works have a distinctive personality, which is particularly prominent in the extreme writing style. A portion of profound themes, unique expressions and language style works,such as "Date", "The Passing Days", "Hard Water", "Living," "Fuga Song",can bring a reading experience traumatic times for readers, and cause much critics and research in the research community.Yan Lianke has become an iconic writer in Chinese literature.In this paper, the main subject for discussion and research is Yan's novels.Besides,the paper is based on narrative theory and the theory of defamiliarization, and it is combined with close reading method, to explore the narrative characteristics of Yan's novels deeply and analyze Yan Lianke's novels's uniqueness comprehensively, systematically and clearly.The introduction part introduces the creation and research situation of Yan Lianke's novels, and then expounds the related theories of the narrative theory.The second chapter which is combined with Yan's novels, narrates the extreme writing of local suffering in Yan's novels,the absurd narration and allegorical narration in the "Shenshi Doctrine "creation detailedly. Absurd and allegorical style makes Yan Lianke's novels so unique, and it reveals the profound significance of the theme.The third chapter analyzes Yan's novels' narrative strategy——the novel structure of "Structure of Original Resources ","Structure of Xu Yan" and the dead narration,and explores the unique writing skills of Yan's novels.The fourth chapter which is combined with the theory of defamiliarization, discusses the language of Yan Lianke's novels from two aspects:the deviation of the language and the "red language". The conclusion summarizes the narrative characteristics of Yan's novels, approves Yan Lianke's exploration of the innovation in the literature and art, and points out some shortcomings of Yan Lianke's novels in his innovation process.
