With the continuous development, Pipa musical work has began to be rich and varied, by combining modern technique and the Chinese traditional elements together. It has the high artistic value. Minoru Miki created a large number of outstanding and magnificent works, which pay more attention to music itself, and convey the oriental musical philosophy. The East Arc for Chinese lute is composed by Minoru Miki, the prominent Japanese composer and the leading figures of national music.This Pipa chamber music is performed by pipa and violin, cello, marimba. It is created for the 30 th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic ties between China and Japan. Minoru Miki combined both Chinese and Japanese Culture in the work, which make a special charming style compared to the traditional Pipa chamber music.This paper aim to find out composing style of Minoru Miki and the peace he want to convey to the world by his music works, and to analysis the content, structure, interpretation of this work and also the Japanese national musical culture from five movements of The East Arc. Furthermore, this paper indicates not only the value of this modern lute musical work, but also a deep understanding of all modern pipa music.
