Wang Quchang is often good at Zhang cursive, and different people have different opinions for him. But his style of no strains on Zhang cursive has great influence on calligraphy world.This paper has three chapters. Chapter One focuses on Wang’s calligraphy tradition, the background and his life ideal, which is based on his calligraphy thought; Chapter Two starts with his aesthetic standard, illustrating Wang’s value of his aesthetic standard and their relationship in three aspects; Chapter Three illustrates Wang’s calligraphy practice: he can mix them up and turn the past into the present, creating Zhang’s style of cursive, which is full of his own style and is also an important factor in forming his calligraphic thought. The paper points out that the process of Wang’s calligraphic thought is guided by the academic thought, combining academic idea and calligraphic idea, and it is also put into practice,giving new blood to Zhang cursive and making it alive. The style of Wang not only has historical value but also has the inspiring meaning to the modern calligraphy world.
