With the transformation of national economic strategy from market economy to culture economy in nowadays,economic construction of cities faces the grand pattern adjustment,competition between cities become fierce more and more.In order to highlight the advantages of cities,city managers have set out to construction of city brands.They want to shape their city brands with cute and easy-to-understand images and highlight their city advantages in the grand tide of meng economy.Due to fun and understandability of mascots,city managers start to pay attention to them.Therefore,city mascots become important parts of city elements gradually,take the responsibility of building visual images of cities,and integrate themselves with spirits of cities and public aesthetic consensus.Mascots become the best reflection of spirits and vitalities of cities.With continuous perfection of mascot design idea in recent years,the level of domestic mascot design enhances fast.How to distinguish from other city mascots is the most important problem currently in the era of meng economy.From the angle of positioning,any deviations could call force queries on spiritual civilization of the city.From the angle of form,the content of city mascots is unitary;most of them are images of animals which are given some significance of education,indicating that city mascot design cannot break through the bottleneck or start a new way,due to the fixed!mindset of choosing mascot.From the angle of cultural deposits,simple piled traditional design elements cannot become good design language so that it cannot form the culture shock.Dream of the auspicious is the main reason for the creation of mascot.With developments of mascot,it become common in daily life and the value of city mascot is extended.As the image of the city,city mascot design has to integrate into the spiritual civilization of the city.Therefore,city mascot designers must understand and study on culture of cities and design city mascot with refined national characteristic.Only in this way,cultures of the city and city mascot can be merged together perfectly and the city mascot can represent the city indeed and authentically.
