A Study On The Creative Writing Of Mitch Albom's Novels

Mitch Albom is a famous writer in contemporary America. From “Tuesday with Morrie”“The Five People You Meet in Heaven” “ For One More Day ” to “Have a Little Faith” and“The Time Keeper”, his novels impressed lots of readers. Because of the warmth character,Mitch Albom is also known as “the healing writer in north America”.In China, the study of Mitch Albom's novels is still in early stages, and there are only a few academic papers about him. This thesis is trying to conduct a systematic study from the following aspects: the themes, the art of narration, and the inner thoughts in his novels.The thesis is divided into five parts:The first part is the introduction, mainly introduce Mitch Albom's life and creation, and the present study of his novels in China.The second part studies the theme of love, and divided it into “the love of life” ” the love of family” ” the love of religious faith”.The third part studies the art of narration. This part analyze the liner narrative structure,the circle narrative structure, the repeated narration, and the standpoint of reality.The fourth part studies the humanistic spirit in his novels, including the humanistic care,and the reflection on the information age, on the instrumental rationality, on the cruel war.The fifth part is the conclusion, this part also point out the insufficient in his novels' creation.
