| As a kind of technical texts, user manuals play an important role in economy activities and people's life. Quality user manuals can promote the sale of products, establish a good enterprise image, provide users with accurate installation, operation and maintenance instructions, and avoid equipment damage and ensure safety.The source text of this project report mainly introduces the installation, electrical connections, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the SUN2000 inverter. The main purpose of technical texts is to transfer scientific knowledge and information. The language in technical texts is objective, accurate and logical, and has the characteristics of large quantity of information, and high pertinency.Given that most of the traditional translation theories fail to provide sufficient guidance for technical translation, this project report aims to apply Peter Newmark's Communicative Translation Theory, which advocates transferring information according to the language, culture and forms of the target language to guide the translation of technical texts. Through typical examples of the grammar, text style, and expression habit, etc., this project report aims to analyze possible translation skills. |
