Since the broadcast of the hit TV play Iron Pear in 2010, Guo Jingyu has created a series of legendary dramas with his own style, all of which have obtained great success, and Guo Jingyu has also been known as" the king of the legendary drama ". According to the phenomenon of hit broadcast of Guo's legendary drama and the thorough understanding of the ontology of his works, the full text is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is about the discussion of the theme, in which Guo Jingyu's legendary drama mainly shows two characteristics, that is, the expression of revolutionary romanticism and the promotion of national culture. The second chapter mainly analyzes the narrative level in three aspects, which are the content of the story, the tone of the story and the narrative structure. The third chapter is about the characters combing of legendary dramas, which is divided into two aspects, that is, the protagonists under the new concept of heroism and categorization of group characters. And the categorization of characters includes Mentor characters, Helper characters and Rival characters. Chapter IV works on the formation causes and effects of the works. This chapter aims to overview Guo Jingyu's special growing experience, which is the most fundamental factor that influences his writing style. In addition, the causes of social context of his style and two-side influences brought by his style was also discussed in this chapter.The paper synthesizes the knowledge of philosophy, aesthetics, folklore, sociology, film studies and so on. Based on the reading and researching of nearly 400 sets of TV play texts, a comprehensive research is gained in order to get more enlightenment for the development of China's TV drama.
