The Periodicals of Traditional Chinese Literature Search started in 1923 and ended in 1926, which was issued by the Humanities Institute of Southeast University. It inchudes a total of nine issues in three volumes. The 1920s'academia was prominently divided into two parts:Geographic north and south. ZHOU Gucheng ever commented on the Peking University and Nanjing Higher Normal School during the May 4th Movement that "the Peking University prefers to aspire for new culture, everyone who pursues a new-style education spontaneously chooses to go to Peking University. However, It's better for people who admires the classicism to study in Nanjing Higher Normal School, which is the predecessor of Southeast University". ZHOU's assessment revealed the history of Geographic north and south between Peking University and Nanjing Higher Normal School during the May 4th Movement. As the Southeast University sticks to traditional academic interest, academic societies such as the Historical and Geographical Seminar and the Xueheng School and other academic groups were continuously founded. All of these made the Southeast University become an academic center in the south. While the concerned academic research is insufficient because The Periodicals of Traditional Chinese Literature Search was defined as a conservative and backward academic body for a long time. However The Periodicals of Traditional Chinese Literature Search has its independent significance and value, the researchers should not only regard it as the opposition of the New Culture Movement or the supplement of The Critical Review but fully exert its unique value and make a specialized and systematic research to the Periodicals of Traditional Chinese Literature Search, which accords with the trend of Chinese Classics craze. The present concerned research seems to be scattered even though much penetrating judgment have been included. On this account, this thesis will develop an expert research on it.This thesis can be divided into four chapters. The first chapter is to introduce the Southeast University of 1920s as the background, then trace its ideological origin. The second chapter traces the constitution of its'author group by statistically analyzing, mainly including their energetic campus life and activity. On the basis of the periodicals, the third chapter analyzes the cultural nationalism by the analysis of its content. The fourth chapter reviews its history status and limitations. The research of Southeast University history of 1920s, is mainly based on history records of Southeast University, focusing on the facts of reappearance and integration. As to the study of the authors, the author makes full use of the interrelated documents of the Republic of China, celebrity dictionary and other materials, aiming to make a complete research. The content research is on the basis of rereading text, which helps the author summarize some aspects of the commonality. The Chinese Periodicals briefly introduced the explanatory statement, published by combining specific poems as well as the traditional paper, paper that is contained in the periodicals cultural nationalism thought. The full thesis takes the National Cultural Heritage-sorting Movement in the 1920s as the background, this is because the periodicals itself is the traditional sinology institute of southeast university to participate in the result of the National Cultural Heritage-sorting Movement. The first chapter focuses on the periodicals research, simultaneously clarify the National Cultural Heritage-sorting Movement in the 1920s into two parties:The New-trend Group and The Quintessenc Group, and then clearly see the Chinese periodicals writer group as the continuation of The Quintessenc Group, which is also an important argument of this article.
