With the development of translation industry, terminology management is becoming increasingly important in achieving translation consistency and efficiency. The effective terminology management can transform the terminology into language resources and then used for future translation practice. In regular practice, the method of translating and managing terminology has disturbed many translators. This paper discusses methods of terminology translation and management in professional translation by analyzing the author's experience in relevant areas, hoping it will be helpful for translation practitioners.Based on the translation project of Customer Analytics For Dummies, this paper makes a detailed analysis of terminology management through real practice. The first chapter introduces how to collect and classify terminologies, including how to define term categories and how to handle high-frequency terms. The second chapter discusses ways of translating terminologies. The third chapter analyzes how to manage terminologies through computer-aided translation tools. Lastly, the thesis discusses methods of updating and renovating terms. |
