The Research Of The Way Of Heaven Of Ts'an T'ung Ch'i

Ts'an T'ung Ch'i is known as influential Taoist scripture, which put Zhou Yi into Stove Fire and Huang Lao, played a very important role in Chinese Taoism.Different scholars have different understandings about this book, some annotate it with Yin-yang, some explain it with inner alchemy while some explain it with outer alchemy, and still some think the book contains not only inner alchemy but also outer alchemy. These disputes are caused by different understandings of the Way of Heaven form Ts'an T'ung Ch'i. Considered of that Ts'an T'ung Ch'i is constructed by many analogies, this article intends to use metaphor to analysis it. Then made a conclusion that the Way of Heaven of Ts'an T'ung Ch'i has both physical and philosophical characters. The physical character regards Qian-Kun as the Heaven and Earth while Kan-Li as the sun and the moon, based on this Wei Boyang found the operation of the stars and established the model of the universe. The philosophical character means the co-creation between the Heaven and human because it combines the physical character of the Way of Heaven and politics and ethics of human society. By analysis the Way of Heaven in Ts'an T'ung Ch'i, why Zhou Yi, Huang-Lao and Stove Fire come from the same place can be clarified, also the rationality why the rule of alchemy and the universe are the same. Though the Way of Heaven of Ts'an T'ung Ch'i, can we know correlative Thinking of ancient China.
