A Comparative Study Of Speech Style Between Wang Anyi And Huo Da

Speech style theory has produced for a long time, Applying this theory must compare the works of particular writer, In China’s contemporary literature, both Huo Da and Wang Anyi are famous female writer, their representatives "The Song of Everlasting Sorrow" and " Funeral of the Muslims " won the Mao Dun Maodun literature award, which loved by readers.However, the study of different characteristics of their speech styles are rarely.From the perspective of linguistic, carrying out comparative study of the two representatives, this paper is divided into five parts: The introduction、Differences in word choice、Differences in sentence syntax choice 、 Different rhetorical selection and Conclusion. The introduction discusses the reason、significance、research scope and research methods of the topic,and introduces the research actuality of Speech style and thetwo works. The second part analyzes the differences between the two novels from the perspective of selected words, including dialect words, foreign words, sayings and word combinations with personal characteristic of Wang Anyi,consider that Huo Da’s novel is more colloquial. The third part analyzes the sentence class, commonly used sentences, paragraphs, chapters syntactic features and arrangements, Huo Da’s novel has rich and varied sentence class, which is beneficial to expressing feelings, Wang Anyi’s novel with characteristics of Europeanized grammar. The fourth part analyzes the rhetoric means, speech means and auxiliary rhetoric, Huo Da often use the layout of progressive layers, Wang Anyi uses the rhetoric of duality; Huo Da often use Overlapping word like “AA”and “ABB”, Wang Anyi extensive use of “AABB” Overlapping word, elongated syllable emphasizes the sence; In Wang Anyi’s novel,there are no double quotes, and Huo Da prefer to use an ellipsis.
