| Annotating of Shuowenjiezi, the life-devoted magnum opus of Yucai Duan who is a great academic master on Shuowenjiezi(shortened to Shuowen) in Qing Dynasty, is regarded as one of most classical ancient language philology treatise, and is the indispensable book in studying Shuowen. With the method of logical and meticulous collation, Duan restored Shuowen to the original, making a great achievement in this academic field. Focusing on 245 characters and 14 graphic variants, this paper classifies and summarizes Duan's collations on Ren radical of Shuowen(the fifth part of this book) by comparing with the version annotated by Xuan Xv. Structure and main contents: 1. Brief introduction to necessity, current status and strategy of this research. 2. Basis and method used by Yucai Duan to annotate Ren radical of Shuowen.3.
