Duan "Book Of Primary School" Exegetical Research

Duan Yucai was an important master in Qianlong and Jiaqing Xiaoxue faction, but also one of an important figures of classics study. The depth and breadth of his research on the "Book of Songs"(《诗经》)had a considerable impact on the later years. The Book of "Shijing xiaoxue"(《诗经小学》)was an important work for his early stage.Nowdays, the study of "Shijing Xiaoxue" are only on macroscopic description of this book, there is no micro-study of this book’s specific content and words, especially its exegesis of the study. In the basis of the four volumes of the "Shijing Xiaoxue", this paper mainly uses the statistical method, the exhaustive analysis, the method of description and the method of textual criticism and exegesis, by these ways to finish the "Shijing Xiaoxue" from the microscopic perspective and summarize the characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of the various aspects of "Shijing Xiaoxue".This paper has been divided into five parts:Introduction Introduce Duan Yucai and "Shijing Xiaoxue", the origin and significance of the topic of this paper, the status quo of "Shijing Xiaoxue" as well as the research methods used in this paper.Chapter Ⅰ The exegetical content of "Shijing Xiaoxue", this chapter is very important and it has six sections. Section Ⅰ is words explanation; Section Ⅱ is about sentence; SectionⅢ is correct pronunciation; Section Ⅳ is rhetoric; Section Ⅴ is about collection; Section Ⅵ is about laws, institutions, customs, culture and so on.Chapter Ⅱ The exegetical method of "Shijing Xiaoxue", divided into Xingxun(形训), Shengxun(声训)and Yixun(义训)Chapter Ⅲ The exegetical terms of "Shijing Xiaoxue", divided into three categories.Chapter Ⅳ The exegetical feature and far-reaching impact of "Shijing Xiaoxue". On the basis of the discussion in the first three chapters, summarize the feature of "Shijing Xiaoxue":exegetical content focus on the interpretation, exegetical methods focus on phonetic loan characters, in the widely cited various doctrines focus on research, not in fayor of one person and Duan Yucai’s exegetical point. In addition, it also illustrates the succsee of "Shijing Xiaoxue" and far-reaching implications on practice and theory.By systematic and comprehensive research and demonstration of the exegesis of Duan’s "Shijing Xiaoxue" to understand Duan’s "Shijing Xiaoxue" completely and determine the foundation of Duan and "Shijing Xiaoxue"in the the exegetical status of the Qianlong and Jiaqing period.
