Construction and building of teaching materials occupies a pivotal position in subject teaching practice.Whether a course can be developed successfully largely depends on the materials.Textbook directly affect the quality and efficiency of teaching.Teaching Chinese as a particular subject in a second language,the quality of its teaching material are also a direct impact on teaching effectiveness.This article will be based on the textbook "Developing Chinese. Elementary Reading and Writing"(I) to analyze, evaluate and improve the contents of the textbook.It is aimed at making the contents more systematic,richer and more practical in order that students learn better, teachers feel more abundant in teaching resources. The paper will be divided into the following sections:The first chapter is an introduction, including the background and significance,the research about the textbooks of Elementary Reading and Writing, researching contents and methods;The second chapter is mainly about an objective analysis of the overall writing style of teaching materials and each part of the contents which include: intensive reading text,characters, and practical reading, reading comprehension, exercises;The third chapter is mainly from two perspectives of researchers and learners to evaluate teaching materials, to obtain the advantages and disadvantages of the textbook,in order to provide some recommendations for designing the materials in Chapter IV;The fourth chapter is based on Chapter III, to inherit and carry forward the merits of teaching materials, and the author will put forward her own thinking and its design samples for reference, hoping to provide certain help for Elementary Reading and Writing teaching;The fifth chapter is the summary of the full text.
