Additional Correction And Textual Criticism Of Recorded Texts On The Compilation Of Tang Dynasty's Epitaph Dispersed In Luoyang

The content of Tang dynasty's epitaph is very rich which involves politics, economics,military affairs, social lives and various aspects in different social classes. Their academic value in history, literature, philology and other disciplines is significant and well worth studying. Luoyang, as the model district of the ancient burial, has unearthed a large number of epitaphs of Tang dynasty. The epitaph has a large number of double characters, folk characters, knotty characters, and the misused characters and so on, so whether it can be correctly explained has an important influence on the research of the Chinese linguistics, the history of Tang dynasty, and on the diction of epitaphs in Tang dynasty. Based on previous researches, this paper is demonstrated mainly from three aspects. In the first part, the text aims at the study of the misuses and omissions of recorded texts. Based on the recorded text of The Compilation of Tang Dynasty's Epitaph Dispersed in Luoyang written by Mao Yangguang and Yu Fuwei, the author will make additional correction for the characters which are recorded by mistake, lack of record and wrong punctuation. The second part focuses on the textual criticism and research of the diction, including knotty characters and allusion expressions in the recorded texts. In the third part, the author sorts out the double characters in the recorded texts. This article collects double characters in The Compilation of Tang Dynasty's Epitaph Dispersed in Luoyang, and then the author will compile these words into double characters table according to the phonetic sequence.This paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is an introduction which includes the research object, the source of corpus, the research space for this article, and the research idea, etc. The second chapter mainly discusses bout the additional correction of The Compilation of Tang Dynasty's Epitaph Dispersed in Luoyang which includes the correction for the false records and the errors in punctuation, addition for the lack of record. The third chapter is the textual criticism of words in The Compilation of Tang Dynasty's Epitaph Dispersed in Luoyang, including the research of knotty characters and the allusion expressions. The fourth chapter demonstrates the significance of the research topic through analyzing the concrete examples. The last chapter concludes the achievements and shortages of this research.
