As a kind of unearthed document,epitaph has important research value.Tang Dynasty epitaphs have always been valued by the majority of researchers,and countless research has been done.There were a large number of epitaphs from Emperor Xianqing's reign to Linde's reign in Tang Dynasty,and there were many problems in the existing records need to be dealt with.At present,no one has conducted a comprehensive and systematic correction on the epitaphs of this period.In view of this,this paper will study from the following three aspects.First,the revision of the records during the period from Xianqing to Linde,Second,it makes textual research and explanations on the Chinese characters whose meanings or structures are indefinite.The third,it makes a systematic summary of the typical variant Chinese characters in the epigraph during Xianqing's reign to Linde's reign in Tang Dynasty,and make “The Table of Variants in Epitaph from Xianqing to Linde”Structurally,this paper is divided into four parts.The first chapter is the introduction,which is divided into three sections.The first section gives a brief introduction to the research object;The second section describes the research status;The third section introduces the text data and the research procedure.The second chapter is the revision of the records during the period from Xianqing to Linde,including the correction of missing records,the correction of wrong records,the correction of missed points and records.The third chapter is the textual research and explanation on knotty Chinese during Xianqing to Linde,including interpretation of difficult characters and damaged characters.Finally,the appendix is the table of epitaph in different characters from Xianqing to Linde.
