A Study On Translation Of The Three-body Problem

This paper sums up the translation methods and features embodied in The Three-body Problem by comparing the original work with the translated one and by comparing The Three-body Problem with other translated works. Compared with other literature which analyzed The Three-body Problem from some specific perspectives, this article systematically analyzes translation features of The Three-body Problem in a more comprehensive way.The first chapter introduces the background information, the meaning and the purpose of the study; the second chapter analyzes the structure and writing characteristics of the original work; the third chapter sums up and analyzes translated words appeared in the fiction which related to Cultural Revolution and Chinese idioms; the fourth chapter classifies the methods translator used in the wok into amplification, annotation, and creative translation, and analyses the examples appeared in the translated work to show the rationality of the selection of the translation methods; based on the three criteria of the science fiction promoted by Guo Jianzhong, the fifth chapter illustrates the ways of maintaining the features of science fiction in the translated work from three criteria of literariness, popularity and scientificity; the sixth chapter is the conclusion.
