Soren Kierkegaard, a Danish thinker in the 19 th century, is known to us all as the father of existentialism. Kierkegaard laid a foundation for the later development of existential philosophy by coordinating the human being with its existence. However, Kierkegaard will say without hesitation that his most prominent achievement is the concern of the Jesus Christ when let himself does a self-evaluation. As a devout Christian, all regarding points of Kierkegaard's works during his whole life are the expositions about how to be a Christian. From Kierkegaard's point of view, in order to be a real Christian, it is necessary to find the notion of living by the Christ and dying for Him, which is just the faith itself. Kierkegaard believes that by faith, human beings can be real Christian, can be redeemed from desperation and can experience the full significance of life.Based on the backgrounds mentioned above, this thesis, which choses the conception of faith to be its theme and the conception of redemption as its bridge, combines Kierkegaard's existential philosophy with his religions thought together. Thus it can be seen that the subject of faith is every individual. And the individual is correlate with its existence. This thesis highlights individuals' existence predicament by expounding the three existential ways of individuals and the idea that individuals' fundamental situation is desperation. Accordingly, the individuals' necessity of seeking for faith and redemption is demonstrated. Furthermore, taking off from the relationship between reason and faith, the author also interprets the essence of faith is paradox and the feasibility that the Kierkegaardian faith shall provide for individuals.
