The new workers are migrant labors whose household registration is in rural while working and living in the city. Their life and mental state present in the literature and art performance. Since the reform and opening, from the earliest description of migrant workers and such as hired labourer literature to the literature and art of new workers fusing more social philosophy, literary and artistic expression about the migrant workers present a narrative difference. To some extent, this also means to strive for the cultural leadership. My thesis approached the literature and art of new workers, such as the new workers art troupe in Beijing and some individual creator as Zheng Xiaoqiong and Xu Lizhi, to observe the workers' survival situation and their spiritual and cultural demands.New workers literary text not only contains aesthetic representation of daily life of new workers, but also characterises their aesthetic ideology against their identity situation and social relations. This thesis try to coordinate with three kinds of the theme elements in new workers artistic expression in the vertical and horizontal comparison with the times and social environment, to search for new workers' new social imagination and aesthetic possibility within literature and art.Above all, labour, especially manual labour is the core content of new workers' city life. It characterises the workers' existential state and their work properties. In the aesthetics of daily life of the consumer society, labor scene of new workers was covered. And the new workers flowing in cities since their instability and insecurity about residence and working. This flow of labor presented in the literature and art uncoveres the truth that labor aesthetics veil in the market era. That is to say, labor is the important part of everyday life in modern society, and it's different from the sublime narrative in revolutionary discourse era. Labour of new workers should be spontaneous and daily content of the aesthetic.Secondly, new workers began to have homesickness after leaving the countryside into the cities. It differes from pastoral nostalgia of the urban middle class consumers. The homesickness of new workers just derives from the home village and land. This state of both be tough to stay in the city or back to the countryside is by no means the bourgeois nostalgic feelings. It reflects realistic difficulties of new workers living in a consumer society. Lastly, there are different coping strategies among new workers with the reality situation of surviving in the cracks. This situation just shows a lonely aesthetics. Loneliness is the real situation of new workers. Meanwhile, it's also a kind of aesthetic form of new workers in confrontational stance in popular culture.
