Phonetic Research On Chaoyi Of Dali County Dialect

Chaoyi Town belongs to Dali County of Weinan and is located in the east side of Chengguan Town. Chaoyi Dialect can be classified as part of Guanzhong dialect in Zhongyuan area.This article is developed from two perspectives:synchronical as well as diachronical, trying to analyze its phonetic features and to summerize the rules of its evolution during history based on objective description. The article focouses on the all-round analysis of Chaoyi dialect and comparisons with ancient phonetic system.The article consists of seven parts such as the introduction, the analysis of Chaoyi dialect phonetic, the Syllabary of Chaoyi dialect, the phonetic changes of Chaoyi dialect, the literary and colloquial readings of Chaoyi dialect,the comparison between ancient and modern phonetic.1.The introduction part briefly presents Chaoyi's historical and geographical overview,concluding its population satus and dialect area. Moreover, it puts forward research status and research method 2. The phonetic analysis includes phonetic system, the two readings of Chaoyi dialect (literary as well as colloquial) and the study of phonetic changes in context. Chaoyi Dialect contains 27 Initials and 40 vowels. It has different types of vowels such as " iE?i??y??yo?y(?)?(?)?i(?)" compared to Dali dalect (The types of Dali dialect comes from The Study of Dali dialect completed by Wang jinghua,2007). Based on facts and examples,the overall origin and changes of Chaoyi dialect will be revealed as well.3.Further more, many types of literary and colloquial readings exist in Chaoyi dialect, especially concentrates in vowels of Ma?Dang and Geng, which are considered disappearing in Dali dialect. As for the pronunciation of Ancient Zhuo Intials, Chaoyi dialect shares more ratios of them aspirated than Dali dialect, which is illustrated by forms in the article.4. Certain aspects such as the phonetic changes in context,the neutral tone,Er suffix,Zi suffix,mode of overlapping nouns and adjectives are deveped in the article. Mode of "31+53"?"53+31" are discovered.5.As for the comparison between ancient and modern phonetic,it makes the work a lot easier to summerize the laws of Chaoyi dialect in depth,and provides new materials to the study of Chinese phonetical history in addition.Throughout the research,field investigation and documentary investigation are of primary methods,by witting down and recording the pronunciation of Chaoyi dialect,large amount of phonetic materials will be provided.The participants will cover all ages in order to show the phonetic changes through history,and historical comparative approach is considered to be an auxilliary method. Generally speaking,the article aims at an all-round,systemetic research at Chaoyi dialect.
