The Empirical Study Of Translation's Inter-subjectivity Based On Communicative Competence Theory

In recent years,with the development of translation studies,the philosophical category of inter-subjectivity has received more and more attention;the domestic and foreign scholars have interpreted the inter-subjectivity of translation in different dimensions.Habermas' s communicative competence theory provides a new idea for the study of inter-subjectivity in translation.Based on Habermas' s communicative competence theory,this paper makes an empirical study on the role of inter-subjectivity in translation,taking the two versions of the twelve beauties of Jin Ling Panci in A Dream of Red Mansions as research material.The purpose of this paper is to explore whether the inter-subjectivity problem can be solved effectively by Habermas' s communicative competence theory,and to elaborate the mechanism of the communicative competence theory in the process of translation practice.This paper adopts qualitative research as the main research method.First of all,it starts from the philosophy of Haberma's communicative competence theory,explains the generation and definition of communicative competence theory,analyzes the literature review of domestic and foreign scholars' research results and sums up the classifications of ability and functions of communicative competence.The thesis makes a systematic analysis on the inter-subjectivity of translation and analyzes its origin and characteristics.Then the author chooses the Yangxianyi translation and Hawkes translation as the empirical research object to analyze the mechanism of inter-subjectivity in the process of translation practice.Finally,based on the theory of communicative competence and inter-subjectivity of translation,the author finishes the text analysis and inter-subjectivity analysis of Yangxianyi translation and Hawkes translation.As a result,the author summarizes the enlightenment of communicative competence theory on inter-subjectivity of translation and the case analysis on the inter-subjectivity of translation.This paper takes Habermas' s communicative competence theory as the main theoretical basis,tries to understand and interpret the inter-subjectivity of translation.Hence the research may enrich the theoretical discourse of translation studies and promote the development of inter-subjectivity.
