Abundant faunal remains have been unearthed from the neolithic layers,Anban site excavatedIn 2012 excavation of Anban site, the majority of fauna remains were unearthed in Neolithic contexts. Pigs and dogs predominate the group of domesticated animal, and deer is the main species of the wild group. Based on NISP, MNI and ubiquity, the result of quantitative analysis indicates that from the Middle-late Yanshao Period (Anban ?) to Early Longshan Period (Anban ?), the proportion of domesticated pig was increasing in human's meat consumption and then occupied the dominating place, while wild fauna represented by deer was decreased. The ubiquities of pigs, dogs and deer illustrate pork and venison are staple and pervasive meat source, and dog, which has lower ubiquity, was bred rarely and contributed much less in human diet. Furthermore, the death age of pig and bone artifact industry reflect a self sufficient economy at Anban site. When it comes to paleoclimate, fauna of Anban represents a warm and moist environment from Middle-late Yanshao Period (Anban II) to Early Longshan Period (Anban ?), which guaranteed a stable development of Anban site.
