The Wuzhuangguoliang site, which is located at Xiaojie village, Jingbian County, is one of the important prehistoric sites in northern Shaanxi. It is also the first large-scale excavated site in northern Shaanxi, which contains the remains date back to the Late Yangshao period.Using the basic principles of archaeological stratigraphy and typology, the author divided the Neolithic remains of Wuzhuangguoliang site into two phases:the phase I belongs to the Late Yangshao period, and the phase II belongs to the Early Longshan period. Besides, the author summarized the cultural feathers of the two phases. The phase I fills a gap in the remains date back to the Late Yangshao period in northern Shaanxi. The phase II adds to the remains date back to the Early Longshan period in northern Shaanxi.By analyzing the cultural features of other sites date back to the same period around Shaanxi and Inner Mongolia, the author summarized the cultural features of northern Shaanxi and drew three conclusions which are based on the comparison study:Firstly, the Wuzhuangguoliang phase I remains are similar to the Miaozigou Culture in couple of aspects.Secondly, the cultural features of Yangjiesha site share many common features with the Wuzhuangguoliang phase II remains, and they are generated by the Wuzhuangguoliang phase I remains. Yangjiesha site and the Wuzhuangguoliang phase II remains belong to the Early Longshan period, and they are earlier than Houzhaizimao site and Xiaoguandao site.Thirdly, the cultural features of the Zhaimao phase I remains and the Zhengzemao phase I remains located at the northernmost of Shaanxi are similar to the Zhaizita type of Ashan Culture, and later than the Wuzhuangguoliang phase II remains.
