Schema Analysis And Translation Strategy Of Passive Sentences In English For Agricultural Science And Technology

Schema is the interrelated knowledge structures or information systems stored in the brain which interact with the text information to help readers to understand the new accepted knowledge.Schema analysis refers to the process in which the way is explored of those stored knowledge or information helping understand the new information,and complete the comprehension of the text language.In translation,the primary role of schema analysis is to decode the original text and encode the target text.As is known,translation is a process to express the meaning of one language in another,and the core of translation is comprehension and expression.When translating,translators should use appropriate language to express the original author's intention on the basis of correct understanding of the original text.In the process of translation,the schema analysis can be used to comprehend the source language and express the target language.Translators first decode the original text correctly with related brain-stored schema knowledge,and then encode the target text in a reasonable way so as to activate the target readers' related schema and transmit the original meaning properly.Using examples selected from academic articles in Nature,this thesis performs schematic analysis on the translation process of the passive sentences in English for agricultural science and technology,and mainly explores the selection of translation strategies:sequential translation and reverse translation.Sequential translation includes translating the English passive sentence into Chinese active sentence,passive sentence and judgement sentence;and reverse translation includes translating the English passive sentence into Chinese active sentence,passive sentence,no-subject sentence and the reverse translation of it is v-ed that sentence pattern.
