Roland Barthes criticized and analyzed the French various cultural phenomena from 1954 to 1956 in his mythologies, and also in this book,he first analyzed the forms of popular culture by the method of symbol analysis and found the surface and the deep implication of the popular culture symbol,so as to reveal the ideological connotation of cultural symbol. The theory of mythology which Roland Barthes based on Saussure linguistics is a special symbol system. He extended the theory of Saussure to the field of cultural studies. It is also such a theoretical practice that the symbolic analysis can be entered into a wider range of popular cultural studies. The theory of mythology which Roland Barthes established is a special symbol system,a signification researching on the relationship between the form and concept about mythologies. The sign which is constructed by the level of language becomes the signifier of the level of mythologies, and this combination makes the signifier of mythologies have two sides--form and concept. On the one hand, the symbol,as the level of the system of language,is meaningful. On the other hand, the signifier,as the level of the system of mythologies,is the empty form.It was combined with the signifier from the level of the system of mythologies, completing the transplantation of meaning and get a new mythological concept.Thereas, the relationship between the meaning and concept in the new mythologies is distorted, which needs to highlight the significance of the need and hide other irrelevant information. The corrupt myth indicates the myth is destroyed as a special language symbol.Roland Barthes also mentioned in his book that there is not eternal myth,it seems that the corrupt myth is a self-evident proposition, but Roland Barthes' theory of mythology also proposes the completion of a myth needs the first layer of symbol system movement which is fit and merged with the myth. But Roland Barthes didn't elaborate how to complete significance transplantation and what is suitable for it.In fact, excpet that the myth will disappear with the passage of time,it also has a crisis of corruption due to the lack of a successful transplant.Through the analysis of various corruption phenomena of the contemporary popular myth, this paper will discuss the social reason causing this corruption and examine the contemporary popular culture from the perspective of myth corruption.
