The rubber hand illusion is a phenomenon that watching a rubber hand being stroked by a brush, while one's own hided hand is synchronously stroked, may cause a illusion that it seems that the rubber hand belongs to his/her body. This illusion is a good way to study the relationship between self-schema and bodily self-identification and the model of multisensory integration in different group of people. In this research,we examined the relationships between rubber hand illusion and(1)cognitive style(2)self-objectification(3)Depersonalization.And we inspected the interaction with(1)cognitive style(2)self-objectification(3)Depersonalization and the age.The subjects included 8-9 years old children,17-24 years old adult and older adult 60-75 years old.We used the Embedded Figure Test, body consciousness scale for college students and the Chinese version of Cambridge depersonalization scale as the tool to measure the cognitive style,self-objectification and Depersonalization. The main results are showed as followed:1 All the group of subjects experienced the rubber hand illusion and the illusion experience of children was stronger than the young adult and the older adult2 The field-dependent subjects could feel stronger illusion than the field-independent one.And there was an interaction between the age and cognitive style:the experience of illusion was not influenced by the cognitive style in young adult.3 There was an interaction between self-objectification and age:the experience of illusion was not influenced by the self-objectification in older adult.4 The person with higher score in Cambridge depersonalization scale could feel a stronger sense of the illusion.
