Since the 18 th century,aesthetics has put art on the throne of the palace.The discussion of aesthetics has been revolving around art.However,nowadays,“natural environment” and “daily life” have become two new trends of thought.In 2010,the 18 th International Congress for Aesthetics was held in Beijing.The conference has continued the most important topics of international aesthetics in the contemporary world.‘Contemporary Art Philosophy',‘Environmental Aesthetics' and ‘Life Aesthetics' are still the key topics.However,‘back to nature' and ‘back to life' has become the consensus in contemporary international aesthetics.Japanese-American scholar Yuriko Saito published the book Everyday Aesthetics in 2007.The book systematically constructed the theoretical framework of everyday aesthetics with a lot of examples.And this thesis mainly discusses the theory of everyday aesthetics of Japanese-American scholar Yuriko Saito.First of all,this article tracks the origin of the theory of Yuriko Saito's everyday aesthetics.Saito believed that the neglect of everyday aesthetics is a major flaw in the study of traditional aesthetics.For this reason,she criticized the “art-centered theory” and the traditional natural aesthetic model,and then came to the theory that aesthetics should back to the daily life.With that,Saito constructed her everyday aesthetics.She pointed out that the everyday aesthetic was a complex process that was not only related to people's psychological expectations,but also to the environment in which the aesthetic object was located.Although she affirmed the universal concept of “orderly system”,she also believed that “disorder” had a positive value of itself.She advocated that the “orderly” and “disorder” should be organically combined.Besides,Saito also examined people's aesthetic taste from the time scale.She deemed that “aging” itself is not a decisive factor that people's aesthetic attitude of the daily-life object,but things' state after “aging”.Moreover,through the study of Japanese traditional aesthetics,Saito explored the dimension of life and moral dimension in everyday aesthetics.She found that whether the tea ceremony or tea packaging both reflect the humility and respect in the daily aesthetic activities,which achieved a “unity of Beauty and goodness” by combining aesthetic and moral together.In general,the everyday aesthetic theory of Saito Yuriko made the study of aesthetics no longer confined to art.She broadened the scope of aesthetics.Furthermore,from the criticism of traditional aesthetic theory,Saito constructed a systematical theory of aesthetic by combining traditional Japanese aesthetics of everyday life;and she introduces the ethical perspective into the aesthetic of the daily life.Her approach has great significance to the study of life aesthetics as well as the aesthetic life of people.However,due to the complexity of daily life and the ambiguity of its boundaries,the distinction between ordinary daily experience and aesthetic experience of daily life has become more difficult.On this issue,Saito also failed to give a satisfactory answer.
