Study On Southwest Jiaotong University History Museum Exhibition Space Design Method

All campuses have their history, maybe it's long-lasting or a short time, it's a accumulation of campus culture. Colleges and universities as a gathering place of knowledge, talent, historical data and information, it has a very high value to record it's history. Southwest Jiaotong University has 120 years of history since 1896 been established in Shanhaiguan.Acorss the 19th and the 20th and the 21th century, passed through the late Qing dynasty, the Republic of China and the People's Republic of China. As one of the oldest universitise in our country, this year, we will celebrate the 120th anniversary of our campuse's birthday. Amid building our own history museum to reveal our campuse history and culture has a special meaning.History museum has a rich cultural atmosphere, reveal the campuse's degree of material construction and mental spiritual construction, it's both the medium of the campus image propaganda, and a faction of campus history research, communicate, and preserve. First of all, this paper started from the research status of university history museums, found the domestic study of history museum is rare at present, the research scope is mainly concentrated in the field of humanities and social science, lacking the specialized research of the history museum from architecture to inner space design. Secondly, this paper analyzed the present situation and the development of university history museums in our country, especially the Jiaotong university, summarized the characteristics and laws of university history museums space design, and put forward the design strategy and guideline from the angle of exhibition. Finally, summed up the specific methods for Southwest Jiaotong University history museum space design through the study of it's history background, campus culture and demand-orientation.The purpose of this paper is to make the history museum space more attractive and improve the technology of exhibition, put forward suggestions for my campus history museum design by use my learned theoretical foundation and professtional knowledge, to enrich the design methods of campus history museum and fill the lack of current domestic study on history museum design.
