This study has based on the adaptation theory, and taken the speech of Natalie Portman in Harvard University,2015 as an example. This paper aims to analyze the use of syntactic linearity on Simultaneous Interpretation. The study shows that the adaption theory and syntactic linearity have similarities in a few aspects. In addition, using the translation strategy can significantly improve the translation quality and information's integrity in simultaneous interpretation. On this occasion, punctuation and cohesion are the most effective measure for interpreters. Nevertheless, punctuation is the difficult point when use the syntactic linearity by interpreters. This study has the practical meaning on simultaneous interpretation, and the study explains the thesis is more specific by using examples.
