The Research On Relationship Among Adult Attachment,Fear Of Success And Work Values In College Students

Many studies have found that,attachment as one of important experiences in individual's early life,has significant impact on career development.But there is few research about relationship between attachment and work values, and most of researches were relating to explicit work values. The paper would focus on the interaction mechanism of adult attachment,fear of success(FOS) and work values.The explicit and implicit work values of college students were studied through both questionnaire method and experimental method. Firstly,we used Experience of Close Relationship Scale, fear of success questionnaire and college students'work values scale to investigate the characteristics of adult attachment,FOS and work values of 741 college students.Secondly,we analyzes the differences of these three variables among all kinds of demographic variables as well as four adult attachment styles.And then, we examined the relationships among adult attachment,FOS and work values of college students.Finally,we studied 135 college students'implicit attitudes toward three dimensions of work values.and the differences in these three dimensions among four adult attachment styles.The results were as follows:(1) There was significant differences of grade on attachment anxiety and of homeland,single child,romantic relationship on attachment avoidance.Except for homeland and single child,there were significant differences of demographic variables on college students'FOS and its dimensions.Except for homeland,there were significant differences of demographic variables on college students'work values.(2) There were significant differences of four adult attachment styles on both FOS and work values.(3) There were significant correlations between adult attachment and FOS.Attachme-nt an xiety has negative prediction effects on avoiding success dimension and has positive prediction effects on any other dimensions of FOS.Attachment avoidance has negative prediction effects of FOS and its all dimensions.(4) There were significant correlations between FOS and work values. Dimensions of FOS have different prediction effects on every dimensions of work values.(5) There were significant correlations between adult attachment and work values. Attachment avoidance has negative prediction effects on five dimensions of work values,and attachment anxiety has positive prediction effects on six dimensions of work values.(6) FOS plays a role of being a partial mediator between attachment avoidance and achievement dimension of work values.FOS also plays a role of being a partial mediator between attachment anxiety and easy&stable,pay&prestige, welfare&benefits relatively.(7) College students have positive implicit attitudes toward social facilitation,easy&-,stable and welfare&benefits dimensions of work values.(8) There was no significant difference of four adult attachment styles on social facilitation,easy&sta-ble and welfare&benefits dimensions of work values.
