Students And Adult Attachment And Social Support And Parenting Styles Of Research

This study investigated the correlation between adult attachment and social support, parental rearing styles,and explored the predictive function of parental rearing styles and social support on adult attachment.The research may provide psychological consultation and mental health education in national college students with theorical basis.A total of 651 college students were collected.Adult attachment were measured by Experiences in Close Relationship Inventory (ECR);Social support level and emotion discorder were measured by social support scale (SSRS);parental rearing styles were measured by EMBU.We accepted 606 effective questionnaires.The results of research show:①Among the college students,the proportion of fearful attachment style was the highest,then preoccupied attachment style and dismissing attachment style,and the proportion of secure attachment style was the lowest.②In male college students,avoidant attachment, father's punishment,father's over-interference,mother's preference were significantly higher than that in female students,while subjective social support, availability of social support and social support scores were significantly lower than that in female students.③There was no difference in adult attachment,social support,parental rearing styles between different majors.④In urban college students,objective social support, subjective social support, availability of social support and social support scores, father's punishment,father's over-interference,father's over-protection,mother's rejection,mother's punishment were significantly higher than that in rural students,while anxious attachment and avoidant attachment were significantly lower than that in rural students.⑤There were difference in objective social support, subjective social support, availability of social support,social support scores, father's punishment,mother's warmness and understanding,mother's rejection among four styles of adult attachment.Those indices in secure attachment style were significantly higher than in insecure attachment styles.⑥Subjective social support, availability of social support, father's punishment,father's rejection,mother's warmness and understanding,mother's rejection may predict avoidant attachment; Subjective social support,father's punishment,father's rejection,mother's warmness and understanding may predict anxious attachment.⑦There was strong relationship between adult attachment and social support, parental rearing styles in college students.
