"Tixiang" is referring to the form appearance of human. One of the most basic in the real world is their flesh, flesh survival is the foundation of the existence of human life.This dissertation collects description about people's "Tixiang" in pre Qin historical texts, focuses on the organizing and explaining of those fragmentary records, and probes into our ancestor's concept about beauty and fate by the analysis of above.The first part is talking about from "beauty" body appearance of the pre Qin literature, and explore what feature did these appearances have and why did people in the pre Qin period of like these appearances. Secondly, to explore the most data refers to, that is, "strange appearance ", which strange appearance reflects the author's state of mind. Diffrent descriptions reflect different concepts.The descriptions of Chinese Shen's strange appearance reflect the self-consciousness of human. The descriptions of saint's strange appearance reflect the thought of self-fate. The descriptions of Chuang tzu's strange appearance relect the purpose of eliminate prejudice of beautiful and ugly. The descriptions of foreigner's strange appearance relect Ethnic centralism. Finally, based on the previous two chapters, the principle, function and physiognomy of pre Qin anthroposcopy attitude to explore. There are many logical problems in Anthroposcopy. But Anthroposcopy can mmt the demand of era, so it was popular in Annals of Spring and Autumn. Confucian and Taoists have criticized Anthroposcopy.
