The Rise Of Shanshui—Discovering The Genesis Of Chinese Landscape Poetrv And Painting In Wei-Jin,Southern And Northern Dynasties

In the historical period of Eastern Jin and Southern Dynasty,ShanShui became an independent artistic theme both in poetry and painting,while before this period,admiring the sight of landscape had already become an aesthetic fashion in the lives of intellectuals,and the landscapes had been on the scenes which were created by various kinds of poems and pictures.This paper bases on texts and images in this period,taking the existing results of research as a reference,tries to analyze what kind of factors helped to bring about the independence of Landscape Poetry and Landscape Painting.As many researchers had discovered,that the rising of Landscape arts was a result of the combined effects,of which there were internal reasons as the artistic forms of the poetry and painting,and also the external reasons such as ideological trend,historical process,ethical values,etc..This paper argues that among the various external factors the discovery of the value of Nature is their core points in common,according to the manner of discovering,this article do the analysis from two aspects:outside oneself and inside oneself.And from the internal factors as the artistic forms,this paper goes through a process from the abstract landscape pattern on the bronze ware in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty,to the vast and beautiful landscape image in the picture of spring outing,It was not only the technical progress,but also the enlarging of cultural symbols,and the expansion of metaphorical connotation rooted in the ethnic psychology that we can see even today.The expansion caused the landscape elements gradually independent from the theme of Wonderland Fairy,the background of characters,and the marks of landform in the map.In the poetry,landscape elements in a variety of themes also implies that there existed a trend,If we take this kind of trend and the development of the form of poetry itself into account,we will eventually comprehend the rise of Landscape Poetry.It is not difficult to find out that many themes were shared by the poetry and painting when they depicted a landscape,seize the inner link of those themes in common,we can provide a new perspective for tracing the genesis of the Landscape Poetry and Painting.
