Wang Mingyang's Theory Of Clearing Up Source And Restoring Purity

This thesis mainly consists of three parts,including five chapters.The first part is the first chapter,aiming at sorting out the basic structure and content of the theory of Clearing Up Source and Restoring Purity:One Body(Wanwuyiti????),the Distinction between Rightness and Profit(Yilizhibian????),the Authority's Academics(Wangguanzhixue????).The second part with the second to four chapters will discuss the above three issues respectively.The fifth chapter,as the last part of the thesis,will reread and get through the whole system of Wang Yangming'philosophy through the system of the theory of Clearing Up Source and Restoring Purity.Besides,we will try to point out the significance of the theory on the Taizhou school in the end.The first chapter analyses the theory briefly.First,a brief explanation of the background about the philosopher and his philosophy is a necessary task,including the development of Wang Yangming's thought and his political opportunity.Secondly,we will extract three proposition according to the intrinsic clue and core:One Body(Wanwuyiti????),the Distinction between Rightness and Profit(Yilizhibian????),the Authority's Academics(Wangguanzhixue????).The second chapter focuses on the theory of “One Body”.which is an important theoretical proposition of neo-confucianism.The origin of the theory “One Body” can be traced back to hundreds of pre-qin scholars,such as Confucianism,Taoism and Mohism and the theory has already formed a certain similar form of expression.However,the pre-qin's theory of "One Body" in the home is not a particular position expressed by scholers or gets the most direct form of expression.In the process of the development of neo-confucianism,this theoretical proposition becomes one special exposition of neo-confucianism.Among neo-Confucians Zhang Zai and Cheng Hao are the earliest philosophers who have ever deeply discussed the proposition.Focusing on a very famous and important essay named "Western Inscription" by Zhang Zai,we can basically tease out the multiple facets of theory meaning of this proposition and their intrinsic differences between theoretical connotation and the theory of tension.In section 2.1,we will endeavour to find out the basic problems based on the controversies resulted from different understandings and explanations of“Western Inscription”before Yangming's theory forms.In section 2.2,we will concentrate on explaining the responses to the above questions mainly from the perspective of Yangming School,in which we try to find out the unique contributions of Wang Yangming to the theory.At the same time,it is an Important step and a necessary supplement to point out some theoretical difficulties that Wang Yangming's responses and explanations may imply.The third chapter mainly analyses the issue of distinctions between rightness and profit,which has been an important proposition in the history of Chinese philosophy,and is also one of the most core questions in ethics.Distinctions between rightness and profit have a close relationship with the Distinctions between Wang Ba.And in the history of Confucianism,proposition has been discussed all the time since Confucius and Mencius the.and different scholars such as Menci,Zhu Xi and Chen Liang have representative views respectively.Many different views formed such as the idea that the rightness is foundation of profit,or that the the rightness and the profit is repulsive,or that rightness is precious and the profit is base,or that the rightness and the profit are all important.In general,Wang Yangming is in favor of rightness and opposes profit.However.if we don't combine above oshima's home to an escapist/Wang Ba issues in the academic history of historic comb,it is difficult for us to thoroughly analyze the ideological trait of oriented Yangming's theory on this question.The fourth chapter studies the Authority's Academics.Three-dynasties Sage sovereign theory elaborated in the essay named Clearing Up Source and Restoring Purity is theoretical evidence with which Wang Yangming reflects reality by ideality,and is a "retro" line under the reality of the reform.To clarify the true meaning of the theory has a great significance for us to understand the meaning of Wang Yangming's theory.Instead of taking a historical method to make the true situations clear,it's more valuable for us to emphatically investigate different Confucians' understandings of the Authority's Academics in history,among which Zhu Xi's theoretical framework expressed in his essay named the Preface of the Great Learning has a great status.As a reference,the interpretation of this essay takes a crucial part in making the characteristics of Yangming's theory about the Authority's Academics outstanding.The fifth chapter ends with the significances and effects of the theory of Clearing Up Source and Restoring Purity.The great significances of the theory lies in that we can dredge the overall context through the internal structure of the above text.In addition,the theory has a great influence on Taizhou school theory and its social practice of rural governance.Through the analysis of the theory's influences,we can enrich our understanding of the theoretical value and practical value,and alert its abuses.
