A Study Of The Ideological Roots Of Ant-Semitism In The West

Western Anti-Semitism is a very complex but pretty common historical phenomenon.About its source of thought,many scholars have analyzed and researched,most of them think that Western anti-Semitism is derived from religious contradiction between Christianity and Judaism.However,the early Christianity was a sect in the Judaism,the early Christians were also Israel Jews.Judaism and Christianity were the same,and the early believers of the two religions came from the same nation.Although Christianity was born in Judaism,it was a competitor for Judaism,and even on this basis,Christianity gradually formed a anti-Semitic phenomenon.This is a thoughtful and worthwhile historical issue.At the beginning of the birth of Christianity,it had an anti-Semitic tendency.Many people think that the reason of anti-Semitism is the contradiction between Christianity and Judaism,this view is obviously too arbitrary,because it ignores the subject of Christianity against Judaism.This paper based on the latest research results of biblical archaeologists,and adopting the research path of retrospective history and layers of mining.Starting from the historical phenomenon of Western anti-Semitism,then the Christian Bible as the research center,from the New Testament back to the Old Testament.Trying to find out the real historical roots and ideological roots of Western anti-Semitism by exploring the early history of Israel Jews.Through research,this paper argues that Western anti-Semitism comes from the New Covenant,and the reason of the hostility and vilification of the Jews in the New Testament can be found in the Old Testament.From the history of the Jewish people described in the Old Testament,the contradiction between the two countries have intensified after the unification of the Hebrew kingdoms divided into the northern kingdom of Israel and the southern kingdom.After the Hellenistic era,during the reign of Rome,early Christianity wrote the contradiction between the north and the south into the New Testament,and by setting up a traitor of Judah,demonizing the southern Jews.This anti-Semitism is widely disseminated with the growing of Christianity.Thus,the direct source of thought of Western anti-Semitism is the demonization of the New Testament to the Jews,and its real ideological roots are the Old Testament described the Hebrew nation’s north-south regional contradictions.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,the text of this article is dividedinto four chapters.The first chapter mainly uses the method of narrative history,summarizing the historical process of Western anti-Semitism.The second chapter focuses on the New Testament,through analyzing the misunderstandings of the Jews in the Western traditional concept and comparing the description of the Jews with the four Gospels of the New Testament,and finally finding out the source of Western anti-Semitism.The third chapter and the fourth chapter further analyze the ideological roots of Western anti-Semitism,starting from the historical process of the Jewish people,making a detailed interpretation of the Old Testament and finding the relationship between the New Testament and the Old Testament,then dig out the ideological roots of anti-Semitism.
