The Teochew Old Testament book of Genesis was written in 1888 by British missionary in romanization method. This paper sorted out more than 1,000 words used in the text and compared it with domestic and foreign corpora during the same period, and modern Chaoshan dialect materials. It analyzes its phonological system, organizes the homophone table, and summarizes the rules of different pronunciations. With the help of computer information processing technology, the data table was created and compared diachronicly with A Chinese and E?lish Vocabulary in the Tie-Chiu Dialect and Jimu zhiyin. The full text includes the following parts. The first chapter mainly analyzes and sorts out the phonological system of The Teochew Old Testament book of Genesis. The second chapter analyzes the main corresponding laws of literary and colloquial readings from syllables, initials, finals and tones. The fourth chapter compares the phonological system of The Teochew Old Testament book of Genesis with that of A Chinese and E?lish Vocabulary in the TieChiu Dialect. The fifth chapter compares the phonological system of The Teochew Old Testament book of Genesis with that of Jimu zhiyin. The sixth chapter summarizes the similarities and differences between the words used in The Teochew Old Testament book of Genesis,A Chinese and E?lish Vocabulary in the Tie-Chiu Dialect and Jimu zhiyin. The seventh chapter compares the modern Chaoshan dialect system with the phonetic system of The Teochew Old Testament book of Genesis. This paper compared and analyzed the phonetic systems reflected in the three literatures from the synchro perspective, and found that due to the developed nasal system of Chaozhou dialect in the late qing dynasty, vowel finals were easily confused with their corresponding nasal rhyme. In the final system of the three dialects, there is a tendency of the anterior nasal sounds and the backward nasal sounds, but the degree of the tendency is different. In addition, this paper compares the phonetic system of The Teochew Old Testament book of Genesis with the phonology of modern Chaoshan dialect, analyzes the development path reflected in the chaozhou vernacular genesis of the old testament, and holds that the phonetic system of The Teochew Old Testament book of Genesis cannot be judged by the distinguishing features of a certain dialect point, but is the large system of chaoshan dialect.
