The trio sonata which came into being in the Baroque period is one of the earliest genres of chamber music in western music arts.In different periods of Baroque,it was given the different meanings,social function,music forms and creative thinking.Despite so many differences,in the process of evolution its ideology is highly accordance with music forms.This article takes the trio sonata's development in Baroque period as the object of the research.From history terms,part and function to explore the trio sonata's special meanings and the origin of thought.The whole article has three parts:Part 1“Term--the name of the trio sonata in historical view” This part first explains the conception and history of the music.And then,from the view of historical briefly genre points that in the early stage the naming of the terms was developed under many different names.However,there are two main kinds.One is that the trio sonata with term like canzona,symphony,concerto and suite is used together.And through the analysis of score,we can find the main reason of this phenomenon is that in the early stage there were not a clear limit among them.The other points that the trio sonata got many terms in history because of different principles of classification.Part 2:“Part--the configuration of the trio sonata in historical creative thinking”This part discusses the evolution of part from two levels which are the relationship of parts and the arrangements of instruments.The first analyzes the three parts' relationship and finds the change of homophony music thinking and polyphony music thinking is the major reason of part's development.The second level focuses on the choices of instruments that each part took in history.Then finds out a development from casually to more specific.Part 3:“Function--the change of the trio sonata under movement of context” It stands by sociology's view and tells that the trio sonata's function experienced three changes on practicability,entertainment and aesthetic character.At the same time,it points that why the changes happened.Because the difficult social environment made the change of stratum more easily and different stratum has different need from music.So from macroscopic,language environment is one of the main reason of the trio sonata's evolution.Through all the research above,we can get an entirely acquaintance about the trio sonata in Baroque period and get preparation for the classical musical research in future.
