A Translation Report Of Computing With Spatial Trajectories (Chapter Nine)

Big data and its related technologies are highly concerned all around the world in recent years.As China is still on the initial stage in such field,much knowledge needs to be introduced from abroad.Conception of “Internet plus” was proposed by Chinese Central Government in2015,so relevant technologies like cloud computing and big data will be much needed currently.With clear logical structure and exact scientific expressions,the translation task requires the translator not only be good at translating,but also knows the general idea of relevant expertise.Therefore,the translation task is worthy of study in many aspects.First,this thesis gives an introduction of the background of the translation task,then follows the brief description and the significance of translation task.Second,the thesis analyzes linguistic features of the translation task based on the features of EST.Features are respectively introduced from the aspects of lexis,syntax and text.Then the process of translation experiences three steps,which are preparation before translation,specific translation process and feedback after translation.And based on Skopos theory,especially the loyalty principle of Skopos theory,the thesis further discusses several translation skills with particular examples.Finally,a summary of the whole translation task and some personal experience are also shared in this thesis.Major findings,limitations from the source text and the translator,and suggestions for future study are discussed at last.Study in this thesis concludes that scientific text like the translation task has significant features in vocabulary,syntax and text,such as the use of specialized and semi-professional vocabulary,more passive sentences and complex sentences,more figures and formulas,well-knit logic structure.Therefore,selections of translation methods and translation skills should take consideration of such features.Also,combined characteristics of translation skills themselves,the translation task could achieve desired effect.
