Part-set cuing effects refers to the subjects remember some of the material after learning,In the testing phase,The experimenter provided some of the material previously learned as a clue to recall the remaining items. The results found that the memory results of the subjects worse than the free memories of the results which did not provide any clues. The concept of part-set cuing effects was first discovered and presented by Slamecka in a lexical memory project task experiment in 1968.Although part-set cuing effects has existed for almost 50 years, there is still no consensus on its mechanism. With the continuous exploration and in-depth study, some of the theoretical models were overthrown by the researchers in the experiment,There are some similar research models in the experimental study obtain modification and integration. So far,the research focus on the mechanism of part-set cuing effects has focused on the following two hypotheses: strategy destruction hypothesis and extraction inhibition hypothesis.Strategy destruction hypothesis suggests that when the experimenter phase provides some of the words that have been used as cues in the extraction phase,it disrupts the memory strategies existing in the mind of the subjects and interferes with the order in which the subjects form information in the memory process, resulting in part-set cuing effects. The extraction hypothesis suggests that the presentation of the clue words directly leads to the enhancement of the representation of these materials, which makes the clue words extract early in the test, and the early implicit extraction of the clue words directly inhibits the characterization of the non-clue,resulting in its activation level decreased and exist part-set cuing effects. To explore the part-set cuing effects mechanism of the real causes, the two experiments designed in this study, experiment 1 uses a single factor completely random design, different clue words(single type of clues and mixed clues)for intergroup variables to explore whether the provision of clues to lead to coding strategy,or the provision of clue words leads to the early implicit extraction of clue words, which inhibits the activation level of non-clue words, and thus the record is affected. The experimental results show that when the individual fruit clues provided do not destroy the memory of the subjects in the animal category, the memory scores of the subjects are also affected, some clue effect still appears, while the single type ofclue group and The results of the mixed clue group were not significant, and the experimental results rejected strategy destruction hypothesis and support the extraction inhibition hypothesis. In experiment 2,on the basis of the conclusion of experiment 1,we further verify that the correctness of the extraction inhibition hypothesis.Experiment 2 uses 2(clue material: table and table)× 3(clue number: 5,10 and 15)between the group design, the experimental results show that,no matter the words are words in the lexicon or out of the lexicon, their recollection results decrease with the increase of the number of cue words, and the clue effect caused by the cue words in the lexicon is greater than that out of the lexicon. This indicates that the degree of speculation clue is greater, and the inhibition of the non-clue is more obvious,so the greater the clue effect is caused, and the correctness of the explanation of part-set cuing effects is extracted. In summary, the two experimental results of this study have proved that the extraction inhibition hypothesis is correct for part-set cuing effects,The reason for part-set cuing effects is that the provision of the clue words increases the intensity of the project characterization of the cue words, which leads to their early implicit extraction, thus suppressing the activation level of the non-clue words and reducing their extraction performance.
