Study On The Positive Role And Enlightenment Of Self-strengthening Movement To The Modernization Of China

The Self-Strengthening Movement is the beginning of the early modernization of China.It first revealed the prelude of searching for modernization.This movement lasted for more than 40 years and it set up many modern military and civilian enterprises,established new school and sent students abroad.It created the precedent of western education.The failing of Sino Japanese war accelerated the decay of the westernization.But the introductions of “western”,learning from “skills” are really a big change in thousands of years.The industrial system,talents and army force cultivating by the self-strengthening career played a very important fundamental role for the development of China's early modernization.At the same time,it also has an important enlightenment function for today's political and economic system reform in our country,the construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics and the great rejuvenation of the China.The topic of this paper is the positive role and enlightenment of the self-strengthening movement to China's modernization.The content involves the meaning of early modernization,the contribution of the measures of self-strengthening movement to China's early modernization and the enlightenment of realizing the great Renaissance of the Chinese etc.This article is divided into three parts.The first part mainly discusses the meaning and content of modernization and self-strengthening movement.It start from the perspective of the scientific connotation,analyzes the association of self-strengthening movement and China's early modernization.This plays a foreshadowing role to study the positive role and enlightenment of self-strengthening movement to the China's modernization.The second part elaborates the positive role of self-strengthening movement to China's early modernization from the aspects of economic,political,cultural,ideological and military.The third part expounds the enlightenment of self-strengthening movement to China's modernization,including used new channels,being independent,having a comprehensive plan and leading strongly,etc.
