Body Narrative Study In White Deer Plains Of Chen Zhongshi

The discussion of the body at home and abroad was widely distributed in various disciplines.By the late 20 th century,some scholars have tried to combine the body with the narrative and to construct the Body Narrative theory.The theory mainly focuses on that the body enriches the meaning of the novel text and promotes the development of the plot.Meanwhile,the theory think that the narrative is the process that the body is symbolized.Therefore,it will provide a new perspective for literary criticism.White Deer Plain was published in the journal of Contemporary in 1992,then it attracted the attention of the academic circles and raised a hot wave of research.It tells the story of deer two families in the white deer village,Shanxi Weihe plain from the late Qing dynasty to the founding of new China,which is about 50 years' history.A large number of body descriptions of the figures and the animals in the novel,as well as grand historical narrative provide a typical text to explore Body Narrative theory.However,Previous scholars have done research mostly from creative concept,theme and characters,etc.for the White Deer Plain.Although some criticism has been launched from narrative techniques,narrative perspective,narrative art,etc.,these are only the study angle of the Classical Narrative.But on the basis of body theory,physical exploration and exploration of participating in narrative in the novel are not strong enough and research papers are few from Post Classical Narrative.Especially,ignorance that culture,politics,history and character of the body are game puts forward the necessity to intensify and refine.That is better for exploring profound implication and rich connotation.The body is regarded as a new starting point for the research of White Deer Plain.The research is developed by using the methods of intensive reading and summarizing.For the first part,there are roughly five body types picked out which are based on character body status of the novel in the different situations in the novel.They are hungry body,sexual passion body,crazy and twisted body,disciplined and punished body as well as the dead body.So Social problems and personal problems in the white deer plain are exposed through the body.For the second part,on the basis of detailed classification,there is in-depth study of construction between all kinds of body styles and politics,patriarchal clan system,culture,history and revolution,and narrative state which women body is observed and constrained in the gender politics.These contribute to discuss character body fatal role and dig deep meaning of the text.For the third part,combining the body theory with narrative strategy,the writer use perceptual language shape the body to make the body be perceived.In the text,the change of the body is the main power of narrative unfold.Meanwhile,on the basis of realism creation,the novel portrays the legendary and unreal body.On the structure,the construction of body and space adds the connotation of the text.For the epilogue part,summarize the text.
