Since the globalization of the world,our relationship with other countries is becoming closer and closer.Accordingly,the speeches of state leaders are delivered more and more frequently.The translation of diplomatic speeches,as an essential part,plays a vital role.In particular,diplomatic speeches are logic in sentence,precise in language,and rich in culture.This kind of texts with high research value are usually translated by professional teams which have solid professional knowledge.Since President Xi is in power,Foreign visits become frequently.Thus,diplomatic speeches are increasingly showing their negligible role.President Xi shows our diplomatic attitudes through diplomatic speeches.They can both show a good national image to the world and reflect the unique statesmanship of our state leader.The speeches delivered by him is highly valued by global society and has a profound international influence.President Xi's speeches carry numerous characteristics which distinguish himself,such as good at explaining a profound theory by telling a simple story,an allusive style of writing,and rich in Chinese culture.The research under the guidance of translation theories is gradually updated.The author taking the diplomatic speeches delivered by President Xi in 2015-2016 as research objects and using the four dimensions of adaptation theory to analyze them.Based on these analyses,four general principles are summarized.Namely,contextual correlates of adaptability,structural objects of adaptability,dynamics of adaptability,salience of the adaptation processes.Moreover,the author combines four general principles and the characteristics of President Xi's speeches and elaborates the specific strategies of President Xi's diplomatic speeches' translation.That is,to translate words rich in culture,translators have to adopt free translation strategies or literal translation.The repeated words in Chinese should be translated in omission.If Sentences and discourses different in structure,translators can add subjects and conjunctions,or use passive voice.The political words put forward by the leaders have to be translated by literal translation.The author aims to guide her own translation practice and hopes to help the following translators.
