In this paper,the study will be put into the Hohhot region with a high degree of integration of Mongolian and Chinese culture.This paper discusses the application of "Mongolian zheng" in the theater,taking the Inner Mongolia National Art Theater as an example.According to the survey of the author Tian Ye,both"Traditional Chinese Ensemble",and "Uliger Mongolia Troupe"under the jurisdiction of Inner Mongolia Folk Arts Theater use"Zheng Mongolia".Although actors name the instrument"Zheng Mongolia" and "yatug",it is not the Zheng Mongolia in traditional sense.With similar shape,structure and tuning identical to Zheng,"Zheng Mongolia" also uses the 21 strings made by Dunhuang Musical Instrument Factory and inherits multiple forms of traditional Zheng Mongolia in shape,technique and style.In order to differentiate it from traditional Zheng Mongolia,the author defines it as the"Zheng Mongolia" in modern sense.The study of this thesis is mainly composed of Introduction,Conclusion and other four chapters.Chapter One briefly introduces the usage conditions of "Zheng Mongolia" in Inner Mongolia Folk Arts Theater.Chapter Two analyzes the application conditions of "Zheng Mongolia" in large-scale brands of Traditional Chinese Ensemble of Inner Mongolia Folk Arts Theater with specific work cases.Chapter Three mainly focuses on the folk song performance of "Zheng Mongolia" and explores the improvisation,performance fingering,and technique uniqueness of "Zheng Mongolia" performance through the comparative study of works.Chapter Four starts from the perspective of "Zheng Mongolia" in contemporary Mongolian bands in Inner Mongolia Folk Arts Theater to discuss about the combination of traditional Mongolian instruments and stage presentation.
