On The Family Ethics Of "Red Sorghum" In TV

This paper takes teleplay Red Sorghum as the research object and focuses on the adaptation practice of it from its original novel.Taking The Same Structure of the Family and Country as the theoretical foundation,this paper attempts to interpret the national ethics as manifested in the teleplay by analyzing its three art forms of presentation of theme expression,plot construction and characterization.In the Chapter of Introduction,the background and significance of the study,introduction of the research object,literature review together with the layout of the thesis are presented.Chapter one gives an overall and systematic account of the cultural tradition of The Same Structure of the Family and Country,on the basis of which,the adaptation from the original novel to the teleplay script is analyzed and the underlying reasons explored,so as to lay a foundation for the following argumentation.Chapter two examines the theme expression of the teleplay,specifically focusing on its spiritual connotation,national spirit and patriotism.Chapter Three discusses the plot construction and establishes its interrelation with patriotism.Chapter Four analyzes the characterization,so as to clarify the images of Chinese Spirit as illustrated in the teleplay in a more visual and direct sense.Thus,with a brief summary made in the Chapter of Conclusion,the paper aims to provide a useful reference for the developing teleplay adaptation and the creationof Anti-Japanese War teleplays.
